Could this book BE any worse!?!
I dislike reading. My mom bought me this book. I opened to page one and closed it immediately. It was bad. Those other refviewers lied. I especially hated the story about Brian and Marissa. I would never recomend this book. I think It could only be worse if Chinua Achebe wrote it.

I hope you disliked it too...

Peace out tree flowers, until next spring..

A MuSt ReAd!!!
Wow! I have only read a few of the Love Stories Series but i believe they truly are a great series. This book was one of the best i have read so far in the little section of books i had read because instead of getting one story, the author put three stories in one book. One of the storys was about this guy named Cameron, and he has eyes on this girl named Ashleigh Witherspoon for eight years. Now he only wished he would have the guts to really ask her out. He wouldn't know if she would actually say yes, or just laugh in his face and walk away. But as they work on the coming Fall Festival, he finds Ashleigh being real nice to him as if they had been best friends forever. She acted as if she really liked him. He thought his dream was actually going to come true. Until, Blaine his cousin with whom he is staying with since his mom became sick and had to stay in the hospital, he believed that Ashleigh was only being nice to him because she felt bad for him. Does Ashleigh really like him, or is she really just felling bad for him? The second is about a girl named Merissa who was assigned to work with Brian Darby who just moved in their neighborhood from across the street,(which everyone called him Fry,)on a project in their art class to make a backdrop for the Fall Festival. But the only problem was, everyone hated Brian, and believed he was a criminal. And it was sure to Merissa that she definetly didn't want to work with him but to make her art teacher happy, and to get an A in ast class. She decided to do it. But as she is working on the project with him, she finds that Brian really isn't a bad person or even a criminal for that matter. He seemed nice & friendly. Oh no is she actually beginning to fall for Brian? Or is she just kidding herself? And the last one is about a girl named Gwenyth Darby, yes Brian Darby's sister. She was with the popular girls until she found that the leader, Bree Hampton was actually laughing at her behind her back! Sure the other girls like her but none of them dared to talk back at Bree's opinions. So then Gwen decides to sit with Doyle Jackowski, a guy she knew in one of her classes, and a couple of his other frinds. But the only problem was they were kind of in the low crowd. but that didn't stop her. They decided to nominate her as this years Fall Festival queen! But Doyle said that she should have it more than anyone, especially Bree Hampton. So she agreed, but she ahd also met this guy named Tony Etherbridge,( a popular guy). But Doyle told her to stay away from him because he just played girls, but he seemed really decent and like he really wanted her not just to play her. But she also heard from Bree that they were almost together. So who should she believe? Read this book because u won't regret it! So read about how three girls who have kissed too many frogs and three guys who'll sweep them off their feet!

Marissa & Brian-- my fave couple!
This book was GREAT! If you havent read it, get it! Its three stories in one book! One is about Cameron, a shy-guy who has been crushing on popular Ashleigh Witherspoon for almost a decade. He wants to ask her out, but is so scared she'll say no, espically after a talk with his annoying cousin, Blaine..... Another is about Qwen, a new girl. She doesnt like the popular crowds leader, Bree, so she starts hanging with the not-so-popular crowd. Shes had her eye on a popular guy named Tony, who's also had his eye on her. But Tony has the reputation of a player, and Qwen isnt about to let a guy play HER..... And, my FAVORITE story, is about Marissa, an artist who is...well...different. So different that some of the people at her school call her "Witch Woman". When her art teacher asks her to do an assignment with bad-boy Brian, Marissa is less than thrilled. For one thing, he has a reputation of a criminal. And Brian isn't too happy about working with Marissa either. Untill they start falling for each other... READ THIS BOOK! You wont regret it!

Here Comes the Corpse

Another Zubro success
I strongly recommend this book as well as any other Tom and Scott mystery. Mark Richard Zubro always weaves a web of mystery that will keep you guessing right up until the end. And you would be hard pressed to find a more perfect example of gay heros.

Wedding Bell Blues For Tom And Scott
Well, you always knew that when high school teacher, Tom Mason and baseball ace pitcher, Scott Carpenter ever decided to officially tie the knot, you should get ready for the media event of the century. And that's what happens in this the ninth book in the ever-popular Tom and Scott mystery series.

The grandest ballroom in Chicago has been rented for the ceremony with a multi-denominational band of clergymen and women set to officiate and all the family, friends, political and sports elite and a multitude of irate and uninvited protesters in attendance. Unfortunately, one of the unexpected guests is Tom's first gay lover, Ethan Gahain, who says he has to talk with Tom. Their affair had taken place when they were both seventeen, and before Ethan dumped him two years later.

The ceremony itself went without a hitch other than the intended one. But before Tom can talk to Ethan and the planned indoor fireworks can take place, fireworks of another sort go off in the men's room when Ethan is found brutally murdered. As you night expect, Tom is the one to discover the body and in the process he get properly bloodied. Everyone knows Tom couldn't be the murderer, and Ethan's parents ask Tom and Scott to investigate the murder.

Along way Scott's teenaged delinquent nephew gets involved, as well as hidden camera pornography and blackmail. Tangled webs have been woven and Tom and Scott have to unravel them.

Though the series is growing a little old and the book is lacking in the surprises of the earlier episodes, Zubro still has a great way with words and his wit and realistic style get you through the book in a totally interesting manner. But it might be time to put more emphasis on his Paul Turner series, or to explore possibilities of a new series.

One of the features of this book is a trip Tom and Scott make to Saint Louis. I always enjoy rating authors on their ability to plot their action through the local streets and landmarks. Zubro scored a 9.8 with only two minor errors. Hey, that's better than what a local mystery writer scored on his last book.

A REALLY GREAT BOOK
This book is a story of two brave gay men uniting in love and life. Unfortunately, many people are still intolerant of the rights of others who do not behave as they think people should and will cause trouble for them any way they can.

I love the books that I have read by Mark R. Zubro. Anything he writes is entertaining, interesting, and a GREAT READ!

Pure Temptation
Zanita and Tyber are to books what Lucy and Ricky were to TV. This was not as exciting as High Energy. I was disappointed.

Ah Connie you did it again!
Well I have to say that Connie is one of my favorite writers. I have read just about everything she's put out at least once. This book I originally read years ago when it first came out and I decided to reread all of her books.

First off I have to say great cover! And Where can I get a man like that? Oh My! "Fanning myself"

Well on to the story. I would almost call this book gothic. It has a dark manor house that is haunted by a beautiful spirit Lady Amelia. She is trying to insure the that Jackson Greystoke doesn't drink, game and carouse himself to death. He is a rogue who needs taming. In steps our heroine Moria O'Toole. She is on the run from a dark secret when she is hit by the carriage that Jackson is riding in. He can't just leave her there do die so he takes her back to the manor. Now as she heals they discover the strong attraction between the two. They both try and resist but the fates or is that the spirits have willed it. But before they can be happy there is Moria's secret to deal with and Jackson's own fears of marriage and love.

There are some very hot love scenes in this book but what would a Connie book be without them? I really enjoyed this book and plan to reread it again and again.

The Ghost of Amelia / BlackJack Greystone
This is another typical great book from Mrs. Mason when looking for books on the net I pull up the authors and a list of thier books. Connie Mason is one of the first that I click on. Don't fail to get this one. The ghost of Amelia is on a roll with Black Jack. It's a "can't put down" book. Great job Connie!

To Love a Stranger
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Love Spell (May, 2003)

Railroaded into failure....
This book would be ten pages if not for the CONSTANT repetition of phrases. Ms. Mason found herself a few key phrases she found to be terribly tricky, clever and smart ('Railroaded into marriage', for instance) and proceeds to milk them for everything they are worth, which is not a whole lot. The characters are stereo-typical and juvenile, at best, and none of them are particularly 'charming'. The plot is like the song that never ends going from one 'snafu' to the next, none of them particularly harrowing or engaging. Frankly this book could not have been worse if it TRIED. Save your money and choose something by Joan Johnston, who refrains from railroading her characters into marriage.

Great beginning to the Delany brothers book trology...
This is the first book of the Delany brothers trilogy, including, "To Love A Stranger", "To Tame A Renegade", "To Tempt A Rogue". This story is of the eldest brother Pierce Delany. He and his brothers have sworn to never fall in love or marry, all women are trouble, well everything is about to change when Pierce is shot by a group of vigalanties and he has to hide in Zoey Fuller's root cellar. He is accussed of a heinous crime that he didn't cimmit and has nowhere to go. Zoey finds him near death and she saves his life only to coerce him into marrying her to save her ranch from a corrupt banker. Things get out of control when the pair fall in love and Pierce refuses to acknowledge it. I loved this story. Pierce is a man hurting and capable of love, but he is afraid to take a chance. As always Connie Mason delivers an exciting story that you can't put down until you read the very last page. His younger brothers Chad and Ryan are the main characters of the next two books in that order. Chad's tale begins to take form in the last chapters of this story and continues in "To Tame A Renegade" and Ryan's begin's in "To Tempt A Rogue"....

nice work, connie!
I JUST finished reading this book about an hour ago- it is excellent! I have a ton of connie mason's books, but this one is fabulous! It never got dull or repetetive. I read it nonstop, and it is totally worth reading. Her stories are easy to get into, and they are hard to put down. BUY IT!

Twin-Souls: Forever In Love
Published in Paperback by Morris Publishing (24 March, 1999)

Pure Dreck
This is the worst book I have ever read! Absolutely horrible! It should be titled, "Diary of a Obsessed Stalker". I couldn't even remember how many times I read the phrase "scheming to win his love", or how often the author's narrative rambled on about how to win his love, and on and on. By the way, this book is marketed as a guide to twin-souls, but as the inside cover stated- this is a work of fiction, and is to quote exactly- "the product of the author's imagination". Filled with rambling, redundant, repetitive lovesick nonsense, the main character is a woman obsessed with a married man who will step on anyone in her way to be with her supposed "twin soul". If this is based on a true story, thank GOD the man had the good sense to run in the opposite direction!

If anyone reading this is into soulmate stories, true or fictitious, try "Hot Chocolate for the Mystical Lover" by Arielle Ford- one of my personal favorites. Love is about truth, beauty, understanding, and often- fate. Not scheming, manipulative, or obsessive as this author would have you believe.

Twin Souls forever in love
This book has touched me in a way I can not describe. I cried till I sobbed. It was as though Marion wrote this about my life. She is wonderful. She was able to put into words how I feel and what I have been going through in the past 2 years. I would love to tell her my self how she has helped me and to thank her for sharing. If anyone knows her e-mail address or how I can contact her please let me know it for I must thank her.

FINALLY! The book that I have been searching for.
I have spent the last 5 years researching the Twin Soul concept because I too, share this very same experience with the author. The book really helped me to see that I was not alone and not crazy for loving as the author does. I truly feel for the author and hope that she will be able to make peace once and for all. I have desperately been searching for someone to talk to who truly can understand the pain and sorrow that this kind of love can bring. If only we can endure, the future holds the rewards and probably not in this lifetime! Best of Luck to the author and God Bless you.

Skip this one!
I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered this one....I thought it would be another hot romance like Sheik. Unfortunately I found that this nocel was written way back in the eighties. The story consists of one contrived situation after another, and I found no chemistry between Mark and Christa. As a result the innumerable love scenes had me yawning away. I only finished the book because I paid for it with my hard earned money!

Kismet? Not for me...mediocre at best...
Hard to knock a Mason book, but this one is no masterpiece in my humble opinion. One of her less than steller books to date. Too many contrived situations and obvious plot twists. No spark or chemistry between the main characters.
Heroine was too boring and the hero was too broody and 'baggage carrying' for my tastes. This one fell flat in the sand...

Lady Christa Horton became a helpless prisoner in an exotic and troublesome land, destined for slavery in the bey's harem until fate stepped in in the image of the elusive Desert Hawk.
Hawk took what he wanted, always. This was no different. Wanted and chased all across Algiers, he made the sultan angry with his attacks on caravans. But the Hawk was no thief, he had motive.
This was revenge.
He just didn't expect a lady like Christa to be thrown into the dangerous game. Well, he wanted her and he took her.
The well-bred English lady finds herself caught up in a deadly game of cat and mouse but she can't help but yearn for the dangerous man playing the game.
Kismet? You decide....

Not What I expected!!!
This book is not what I expected. Zane is one of my best authors especially with erotica, and I was looking forward to reading her story, but she unfortunately disappointed me. I like when the characters find love that is all good and fine but can the sex be a little more detailed??? I am here in Iceland and a tad bit frustrated and I was waiting on this book for 2 weeks and I finally get it and it is not what I wanted to read. The only author that comes close to what I was looking for is Shonda Cheekes and even she did not reveal as much as I had hoped. If you are looking for pure down and dirty erotica you are not going to get it in this book...

ZANE at her best
I liked the stories, but who wouldn't like anything that zane writes

Steamy & Caliente HOT!!!
This book was off the chain! I'm on the look out for the next one from all the writers. I have to say that I was especially drawn to Lessons Learned. I know someone who lost out on their true love because they listened to what other people were saying instead of talking it out with the guy. I recommended that she read this. Maybe she'll have the same luck as Clarissa and Julian. I'm waiting to read Ms. Cheekes novel, Another Man's Wife.

The Rogue and the Hellion
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Leisure Books (June, 2002)
Author: Connie Mason
Average review score:

Disgusting!
...so boring with all he ever wants to do is have sex. And the never ending sex chapters over and over really disgusted me. I mean they were having sex more than actually talking to each other. And then all of a sudden, he falls in love. That made no sense at all. Gabriel's idea that he will go insane because it will be inherited from his mother was really absurd. It was not believeable at all. But the storyline of a woman disguising as a highwayman and ends up falling in love with the man she robbed had it's potential of becoming a great story. I give it that.

Connie has done it again!
I have loved everything Connie Mason has wrote. Her books are filled with humor, danger, excitement, passion and love. Her characters have depth and you actually become involved with the story.

This is a wonderful tale of danger and scandal. The hero, Gabriel the Marquis of Bathurst has just been robbed at gunpoint by the most intriguing highwayman. He can't get the robbers emerald eyes out of his mind but when he finds out his highwayman is the Hellion Olivia Fairfax he is thrown for a loop. Olivia has taken to a life of crime in order to survive. She is daring and strong willed but when Gabriel takes her in his arms she finds herself vulnerable. The two almost burn up in each others arms. But there are obsticals standing in the path to thier happiness. Overcoming them is no easy task but one they will embark on together.

There are wonderful supporting characters that add to the fun of this book. Also Connie promises that two of these characters will get their own books. I really enjoyed this book and eagerly await her next book.

Loved it! Loved it!
Gabriel, Marquis of Bathurst, was robbed by the same pair of highwaymen, TWICE! He was determined to track them down and see them hang. He never expected to fall in love with one of them though.

Olivia Fairfax stole only from those who could more than afford it. If she and her partner did not steal, her family members would starve and her brother (who had NO idea what she was up to) would be thrown out of school. Not to mention their home was in dire need of repairs. But thanks to her deceased father, there was no money for anything. In addition to all these worries, she had a few more. Olivia was considered firmly on the shelf, yet Lord Palmerson was determined they would wed before her upcoming twenty-fifth birthday. Olivia was just as determined she would never marry the awful man!

***** Author Connie Mason pleases readers again with this, her latest master piece! Clearly Palmerson was the villain, however, the plot thickens when he gets an assistant to help him. Be sure to begin reading only when you are sure you will have plenty of time to devote to your reading habit., because you will not want to stop for a long time. This plot is down-right addictive! *****

The Outlaws: Sam
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Leisure Books (May, 2001)
Author: Connie Mason
Average review score:

Where's the romance?
If you want a how to on how to skip all romance and jump straight into the sack then this book is for you. It's also for you if you want to read about a weak willed ninny who doesn't even like her ex, says "no", but still is willing to romp at every opportunity. I always believed "NO" meant just that, but if you buy into this story it proves "no" means "yes" just because he wants it to. The characters jumped around from aggrivating to confused and never really developed an identity of their own. I enjoyed Rafe, it's sad this turned out to be such a loser.

I'm Sorry to Do This But.....
I had eagerly anticipated this last installment of the Outlaws trilogy, but found that it was not nearly as good as expected. I so loved both Rafe and Jess that it seemed to me a shame that Sam was not very good.

Sam is, of course, a wanted man, so he goes to Texas and finds work at the B&G ranch, and finds that his wife of six years, Lacey, is the owner. He thinks that Lacey betrayed him during the war and she thinks that he abandoned her for 6 years without ever letting her know he was alive. Sam also finds that Lacey has a son Andy who he refuses to believe is his and Lacey won't give him a strait answer about Andy's parentage. Throw in some misunderstandings, a suitor who wants to marry Lacey for her land, and some Indians and you have this novel.

Yes we know Sam thinks Lacey betrayed him and that Lacey is mad at Sam. Yada yada yada. They didn't have to harp on it constantly. Secondly, very coincidental things happened that created misunderstandings added to the fact that our hero and heroine didn't communicate with of confide in each other until after a mess had been created. When none of this was going on there was sex. Misunderstanding, anger, fight, sex. It was a cycle that repeated itself over and over. I found myself flipping through the book reading as fast as I can so I could simply make it to the reunion at the end.

The reunion was good and I was glad to see Rafe, Angel, Jess, and Meg again and that they all turned out happily ever after. The end is the main reason I would read this book. I really hope that Ms. Mason's next is better and am extremely disappointed in this one.

The Outlaws: Sam
Ok I admit it, I'm a Connie Mason Junkie! I love all of her books. I've read and reread them so often I've had to replace them all once!
This is the third and final part of the Outlaw series. The two other brothers, Rafe and Jess, have found wonderful brides who can be gentle and strong at the same time and who have lead them on merry chases. Well Sam already had a bride but told no one of her. They met during the Civil War and were lost to each other soon after marrying. They were betrayed but Sam blames Lacey for it all and Lacey is told that Sam was killed in the war. Sam shows up to work on a ranch and finds that Lacey is the owner. But that's not the biggest suprise, he finds that she has a son who he believes to be the one she had with the man who betrayed him. She knows that her son is Sam's but she is so afraid that he will take him from her she doesn't tell him. She is engaged to marry another man but only to save her ranch. Sam throws a wrench into her plans but she soon discovers that she loves that wrench. Sam struggles with his feelings for her and for the boy who even though there is still a lingering doubt of his parentage, he is starting to love and consider his own.

There are a couple of obsticals in Sam's way though of claiming Lacey and her son, the warrent for his arrest for bank robbery is one, even though he knows he is innocent, and the man who Lacey was to marry. He must fight all of this to win her back.

I loved this book and was so happy to find out how the other brothers were doing at the end also. Connie makes her characters seem like part of your own family. I would highly recommend this book as well as anything else she has written. You'll love them.

Statistical Techniques in Business and Economics

Author: Robert Deward Mason
Average review score:

Not a bad book
First of all, I would like to say that this is not a bad book, but I personally found that many of the examples were a little hard to follow. I felt that in many cases steps seemed to be left out, and it was assumed that you would know how to get to these points in the examples that were shown in the book. Unfortunately in my case the professor teaching our statistics class really does not seem to care to follow the material in the book. He's not a bad buy, but I'm not so sure he should be teaching statistics. In addition we use Microsoft Excel and the Megastat add-in on some of the example problems. So what happens is that the answers I get vary depending on whether I follow the book, my professor, or the Megastat program. All of this adds up to massive confusion on my part, and on the part of my fellow classmates.

The Paperback, International Ed. is Great
The paperback international edition is the best deal out there! It will save you a load of cash and is EXACTLY the same content wise as the hardback USA edition. As far as the quality of the textbook goes I'm not exactly a math minded person and this book seems to explain stuff fairly well or at least as good as Quantitative Methods can be explained.

Excellent Book!
Reading this Book helps anyone understand all Basic Statistics; this allows continue with more advanced textbooks. I recommend it to all, who need to start up with essential statistics and need a friendly, introductory but very efficient approach!
